Sweetness

What makes something sweet? How is the concept of sweetness constructed disparately in different cultures and societies? Why is sweetness so important to certain philosophical traditions and in what ways is the word used linguistically to convey meaning? In this salon we will consider the historical and philosophical legacies of our notions of what is sweet and the meaning we give to the idea of sweetness.

This salon will take place over dinner and therefore spaces are limited. Every guest will bring one dish to share with the group.
