A New Art Salon Series
The history of salon culture and the visual arts are closely interconnected. Artists displayed their work in the salon for discussion and critique, and salonnières were their friends and patrons, helping to advance their careers. Some of the most important artwork created in the Western tradition was commissioned for the salon. From 1748 to 1890, The Paris Salon, was generally acknowledged to be the greatest art event in Europe.
In keep with the tradition of salon culture and the visual arts, we are pleased to announce a new art salon series with October Gallery .
Our first art salon is on "The Art of Transformation" and will feature Alexis Peskine's exhibition "Power Figures" at the gallery.
