What is the role of art and poetry in the political sphere? How can aesthetic experience shape reality and influence our values and responsibilities to the collective? Are any elements of an aesthetic state that Ancient Greek and Florentine Humanist philosophers’ envisioned still valuable to consider today?
In this salon we will question the relationship between poetics and politics. In addition we have three acclaimed poets who will join us and read their poetry: Ilyas Kassam, James Messiah, and Muj Hameed. There will also be live music from composers inspired by poems.
If you would like to share a poem you have written or that of another poet, we invite you to bring your poems to the salon!
RSVP required. Spaces are limited: justine@publicspheresalons.com
